Spirit Hunting
This is my section dedicated to spirit hunting. Now before I begin, I'm not a crazy loon with too much time on his hands. Glad we cleared that up. Now Spirits or ghosts is a subject which up to this point in time cannot be scientifically proven, but they can't be dismissed either, there is evidence to their existence. I mean how many people make up stories about ghosts anyway? Personally, I do believe in spirits. Anyhow, whether you believe in them or not, these pictures are something to think about. As I like to say, keep an open mind.
These pictures were taken at a local cemetery in Antigonish while I was attending university. I went with a friend of mine. I didn't know what to expect when I took the pictures, but I was pleasantly surprised. Essentially all we did was introduce ourselves as people interested in seeing them. Saying that we would like to get their picture if they would like to show themselves. We did warn them not to follow us home however. This is a prudent course of action, because no one wants to be haunted on a personal level. All the pictures we took that have suspected spirits in them show spirits in "orb" form. These are unexplainable little white balls of light that show up in graveyard pictures and pictures of suspected haunted areas. If you want more info on them, just type "ghost orbs" into google and you'll learn all about them.
Some Ground Rules
1. Take pictures when it is not precipitating out. Rain and Snow will invalidate any photos taken for obvious reasons
2. If it's sunny out there is a better chance of sunlight reflecting off anything and causing sun reflections in your pictures. So try to use a cloudy day when it's not wet out.
3. Ensure your camera lens is free of debris. Once again, it's obvious why.
4. Remember to tell the spirits not to follow you home. Even if you don't believe in them, it's just a spooky proposition to think about if one did tag along.
5. Odds are that if you do click a picture of something it is most likely debris on the camera if the object shows up in the same area of your next picture, if you are taking a picture from a different location, angle, etc.
This is the first suspected spirit. The white ball of light is above the tombstone. I do not believe that this is a light through the trees. I have also inverted the photo for your thoughts.
Is this a face in the headstone? Or just normal wear and tear? Personally I believe it is just normal wear and tear. Here is a close up
Another spirit orb? This one could be a white flower on the tombstone, it's just too inconclusive. But still somewhat convincing. Once again, here is the negative
This is an eerie photo. Remember that I am not using a flash, it's not sunny, rainy, or snowy, and the tombstone is dry. On top of all that the light is behind Andrew's hand, which shows it is not debris on the camera.
In closing, I would to say that I have taken literally thousands of pictures... 2050 on my new camera and about 1750 on my old camera. The only time that orbs showed up on my camera was here at the graveyard in a span of about 75 pictures or so. The statistical probability of that is mind boggling to say the least. The fact that 0% of my pictures outside the grave yard are suspect, 5.3 % of my grave yard pictures are suspect and a total of 0.1% of all my pictures overall are suspect.
