The joke on Amanda
Some of you may know already, but for those of you who didn't... my cousin Amanda was down for 2 weeks in the summer. My uncle and me decided to play a joke on her. Actually it was his idea, I didn't help Amanda's case by spurring him on.
The background goes a little like this: In the summer of 2003 or 2004 Amanda came from her home in Fort McMurray Alberta to visit for a couple of weeks. While she was here she accidentally took a fork of our uncle's. She left it in the rental car she had and then the rental car place denied ever seeing it. The problem was that it was my uncle's favorite fork. So he was mad. A little thing escalated quickly into a large thing.
It is now 2006. My cousin was in town again. The day after she leaves a distinct spoon that my uncle likes goes missing. We thought she had taken it as a joke. So he decides to play his own joke. We were watching dog the bounty hunter one night. Johnny says too bad we can't make a wanted poster with her face and name on it for spoon rustling. We laugh and I make the following:
Now we thought this was fairly amusing. Johnny suggested that it should be sent to her boyfriend Owen. Then Johnny came up with the idea for an official looking police letter. So I came up with a more official looking poster and also wrote a letter with an official Halifax Regional Police Logo on it. Below you will find the letter, poster and badge. Disclaimer for police reading this: Please don't arrest me, it was just a joke.
As it turns out Amanda didn't take the spoon so all allegations have been dropped and she does not have to fear about returning to the Halifax area.
